If your organization serves individuals whose pets create barriers to accessing services, BestyBnB can help.

1. A BestyBnB Partner Organization identifies a client who needs temporary pet care.

2. Using the BestyBnB platform, the Partner Organization creates a booking request through a network of trained and confidential Pet Caregivers.

3. While the client receives care, the pet is placed with a screened and approved Pet Caregiver (foster home, boarding facility, or animal welfare partner). 

4. When the crisis has stabilized or the client’s care has ended, the pet is reunited with its owner.

Pet owners access pet support with BestyBnB through one of our Partner Organizations. The Partner Organization works directly with the pet owner to coordinate placement through the BestyBnB platform.

BestyBnB does not accept direct requests from pet owners in crisis. Instead, we work alongside trusted community organizations that provide case management and support throughout the process. When a pet owner reaches out to BestyBnB for support, we refer them to a local partner that specializes in helping the pet owner.

BestyBnB is here to help! Many organizations begin their pet-inclusive journey with little or no experience managing pet care services.

BestyBnB provides guidance, training, and resources to help organizations create or expand pet-inclusive programming while maintaining focus on their core mission.

Absolutely. BestyBnB is designed to complement existing pet-inclusive programs, including co-sheltering models.

Many organizations use BestyBnB as an additional resource when on-site accommodations are unavailable, at capacity, or not the best fit for a client’s or the pet’s situation. The platform can provide access to temporary foster homes, boarding facilities, and other approved pet care options for pets that cannot be housed on-site.

BestyBnB also supports organizations by providing tools for team communication, documentation, expense tracking, and reporting. Whether your organization is just beginning to offer pet-inclusive services or already operates a robust co-sheltering program, BestyBnB can help expand your capacity and provide additional flexibility for serving clients and their pets.

All Pet Caregivers complete a comprehensive approval process before joining the network.

The 5-step screening process includes:

1. Providing details of their home environment and validating their phone number and email address. 

2. Setting their rates and preferences – Pet caregivers can donate their services or charge a fee – often significantly discounted compared to a traditional boarding facility to match the budget of our nonprofit Partner Organization. Pet Caregivers keep 100% of the rate they set.
   
   Pet Caregivers can also select what kinds of animals they are able to provide care for. Some Pet Caregivers prefer to provide care to only dogs, while others can care for anything from cats to turtles. It’s completely subject to the comfort level and expertise of each Pet Caregiver. 

3. Reviewing training videos that educate Pet Caregivers on important topics such as understanding confidentiality when providing care to pet’s who’s owners are in crisis, the potential length of stay, which could be longer than a traditional pet sitting gig, and how to safely introduce pets into a new home environment. 

4. Providing at least 3 character references to build trust among Partner Organizations and serve as testimonials displayed on their profile. 

5. Completing a comprehensive background check that includes Federal, State, and Municipal jurisdictions to ensure our Pet Caregivers are the best fit for the service they are providing. 

This process helps ensure pets are placed in safe and supportive environments.

Protecting the safety and privacy of all participants is a priority. Many of our Partner Agencies refer to BestyBnB as a HIPAA compliant foster network.

Pet Caregivers do not receive identifying information about clients, and clients do not receive identifying information about Pet Caregivers. The partner organization manages placement coordination through the BestyBnB platform to ensure confidentiality.

Yes. BestyBnB provides ongoing support to Partner Organizations before, during, and after implementation.

Support includes:

• Access to experienced team members with expertise in pet-inclusive programming

Partner Organizations do not need prior experience operating a pet program to successfully use BestyBnB.

Building and maintaining an on-site animal shelter often requires significant capital investment, staffing, operational expenses, and ongoing overhead and maintenance.

BestyBnB provides organizations with a flexible, scalable alternative that allows pets to be cared for through a network of approved caregivers and community partners.
