Building Better Outcomes Through Pet Support in Crisis Services

Every day, families in crisis face impossible choices: seek safety, shelter, or treatment - or stay in harm’s way to keep their beloved pets safe. For many, pets aren’t just companions; they’re emotional lifelines. Studies show that 95% of pet owners consider their pets family, yet services designed to help people often overlook the powerful bond between humans and animals.

When crisis services provide safe options for pets, the impact is profound:

  • Survivors of domestic violence are more likely to leave dangerous situations when they know their pets are safe.

  • Individuals in recovery or experiencing homelessness are better able to focus on healing when they don’t have to worry about their pets.

  • Families experiencing crisis stay connected and stable, reducing trauma for both people and animals.

That’s why BestyBnB partners with crisis intervention agencies to create Pet Support Programs. Through our platform, agencies seamlessly coordinate temporary pet placements for their clients - improving outcomes by increasing accessibility, safety, and engagement.

In just the past 6 months, BestyBnB has provided 6,000+ safe nights for pets. Together with community partners, we’re proving that when we increase care for pets, we increase care for people.
